March 2013: by Becky
It’s the last week of our term, so it’s always an interesting challenge to hold onto or try to get those A’s!! I texted Isaac during lunch one day and reminded him to check for extra credit opportunities, and now all of his friends think I’m crazy…since he had all A’s except one A- at the time. Auriana impressed us by scoring a 28 on her ACT.
We spent a few days down in St. George for soccer tournaments in February. It was so nice to soak up the sun for a few days. Natalie and Enoch played and they both did great!! Natalie’s team placed 1st in their bracket, so they went to the next level before losing. She continues to be an amazing defender!
Enoch’s team made it to the championship game in their bracket. They had to play the only team that had beat them (5-2), and they held them at 0-0 until the very end. It was and exciting game and a tough loss, especially since Enoch came so close to scoring, but he always recovers pretty quickly! He’s playing forward now, which he hasn’t done before. It’s not quite as stressful for me to watch as it was when he was goalie, but almost!
We stayed in a little house and had a much needed vacation…the kids discovered the fun of racquetball and tennis, and we all just enjoyed the time together. One night Enoch and Isaac were alone in the racquetball court when the lights when out. It was pitch black and quite an adventure for them to find their way out.
It was so fun to have Mom and Dad and Brenda stay with us for a few days and to see Teresa a little more often! And it was very neat to be there for Auriana’s Patriarchal Blessing! Brenda had surgery and we’re so glad her knee is feeling better! We even got to see Matt and Camille for a few hours. Lilly is so cute!!

Auriana is leaving for Seattle for choir tour today…we're hoping she sends a picture from the top of the Space Needle.
Isaac has finally found an Eagle project that he’s happy about…we’ll let you know how that turns out!!
Natalie and I are trying to figure out what she can wear for her Irish dance recital, she’s supposed to dress as an “evangelist???…if you have any ideas you can let me know.
Enoch is enjoying wearing the one pair of socks that he likes, over and over...feel free to share your parental tips!
Miriam is trying hard to beat her best friend (who always wins) in reading minutes for this week to win a book…we’ll let you know if it works out for her!
Today Ellie gets to build a Leprechaun trap…we’ll let you know if she catches anything.

Auriana
For an early Christmas present this year, I got an iPhone, and it’s really awesome. Christmas day was fun because we got to go to our Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton’s house and sing Christmas carols with all of our cousins. I got straight A’s for first semester, but I thought I didn’t because my government teacher entered in my final test as an F instead of an A.
In Sunday school this month, we’ve been learning about the Godhead, and it’s a lot different because we have to actually participate and be the teachers, and come prepared with things to talk about.
Isaac
My Christmas break was a blast, right now its basketball season and I’m on the school team, we’ve been having a pretty good season winning the majority of our games. Today in Sunday school I learned how the god head is apparent in our every day lives, and how if we knock it shall be opened unto us. which means that asking for help is more effective than just waiting for it.
Natalie
Christmas was super fun! About two weeks before it I got an ipod touch and so for Christmas I got lots of things to do with that! I’ve been doing accelerated basketball. We won our first few games, but lately we’ve been not really doing as good. I’m excited for the new semester in school which starts tomorrow! And I’m excited to be in charge of the family letters this year!
Enoch
Christmas was fun because I got a remote control helicopter, a remote control car, and some new gloves.
Today in church I learned about how the church got restored. Our teacher had name-tags taped on cups and we built a tower with them. Then we destroyed it and made little tiny towers and this is how churches were when Joseph Smith was alive.
I gave a talk and I brought our kindle there, and I read a story from the friend about President Monson and how he lost his five-dollar bill in the laundry, he prayed and then when the laundry came back he found it.
Miriam
For Christmas I got a pedometer, a suitcase from Grandma and Grandpa, new snow gloves, and a notebook. I got a lot of candy. I got a present from Frosty the Snowman. I had an awesome Christmas.
In church today I learned about how the church was restored on the earth. Joseph Smith got the priesthood and he restored it. It was really short because we went overtime in sacrament meeting.
Ellie (Dictated by Ellie while Irish dancing around the kitchen)
I loved when I got my Holiday Dora and she’s really cute because she has a pink dress with green stripes on it and pink shoes and a green brush and I got a suitcase from my Grandma and Grandpa and it is blue with flowers and hearts on it. It has wheels and I’m excited to use it. I love my new toys.
Miriam and me went to Brenda’s house last night and we slept there for one night and we got to do a puzzle and it was a David and Goliath puzzle and it was really fun to do. I got a bag with Vanillope from Wreck-it Ralph on it. I love my new bag.
